The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland also operates the Alzheimer National Helpline offering information and support to anyone affected by dementia at 1800 341 341.

The Dementia Services Information and Development Centre (DSIDC) is a National Centre for excellence in dementia and is committed to best practice in all aspects of dementia care. They offer three core professional services:(1) Education and Training; (2) Information and Consultancy; (3) Research.

Dementia Elevator is an education and empowerment programme to help individuals, communities and health systems engage with and support people with dementia. FreeDem Films – from Hello Brain

FreeDem Films aim to increase public and professional awareness around the important issues of memory loss and brain health while at the same time tackle the stigma and fear that can accompany a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in later life. Each film addresses a question relating to brain health or dementia that older people identified as important.

Third Age / SAGE

Third Age is a national voluntary organisation celebrating the third age in life when people may no longer be in paid employment, but can remain healthy, fulfilled and continue to contribute to society. The longer people are encouraged to remain in this life stage, the better for older people themselves, their families, communities and society as a whole. Sage is working to expand access to support and advocacy services in all care settings, in the community and wherever ageing poses a challenge for individuals.
Family Carers Ireland

A new organisation has been set up for family carers as a result of the merger between the Carers Association and Caring for Carers. Family Carers Ireland provides 24 resource centres across the country, over 150 training courses and an extension of its freephone care line to seven days a week.
